The source of the River was so formed by a Trishul (trident) hence called the Trishuli. Name of this river, Trishuli, followed from a famous pilgrimage place Gosainkund which lies high in the Himalaya. From the high Himalayas the River flows with great speed down to the Mahabharata range and eventually flows down the Terai.

Trishuli River rafting is an idyllic trip for any kind of rafters as it facilitate exciting rapids but not too difficult with right length.
